About MACA Advisors

MACA Advisors is a cross-border M&A advisory firm serving market leaders and institutional investors across Latin America and the Caribbean. We offer senior-led execution, cross-border expertise and rigorous analysis through a lean platform built on client alignment, transparency and trust.

The program

The MACA Summer Analyst program is an ~8-week educational program, from June 1, 2027, to July 30, 2027, for students who want to understand how cross-border M&A advisory works in practice. It is built around a structured curriculum taught by the firm's bankers, case work modeled on real transactions, and supervised observation of how our team runs mandates. The program is designed to complement your studies, and we work with universities to support academic credit where it is available.

What You Will Learn

  • Financial modeling and valuation: comparable companies, precedent transactions and DCF, taught in weekly sessions and applied in case exercises
  • How a sell-side, buy-side or capital raise advisory process runs, from preparation to closing
  • Research methods for companies, sectors and comparable transactions using FactSet, Bloomberg, PitchBook and Capital IQ
  • How professional presentations, teasers and memos are structured and written
  • Latin American M&A specifics, including country risk premia, FX considerations and how multiples compare with US and European benchmarks

How The Program Works

  • A weekly training curriculum led by the firm's bankers
  • Case projects built on anonymized or past transactions, with written feedback on each
  • Observation of team meetings and selected client calls, followed by debrief sessions on what was decided and why
  • A designated mentor who reviews your work and meets with you each week
  • A final case presentation to the firm's partners, with a written evaluation at the close of the program

What You Bring

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in finance, economics, business or a related field, with expected graduation in [year]
  • An exceptional academic record (minimum GPA of 3.7 or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word, and of accounting fundamentals
  • Curiosity, care in the details and a willingness to ask questions
  • Fluency in Spanish and English (Portuguese required for Brazil-based participants)
  • Based in a time zone between UTC-3 and UTC-6
