The Role

What You Will Be Doing

We are searching for a detail oriented professional on the administration and support of PostgreSQL databases in on-premise environments to work on the design and implementation of stable and reliable databases, according to our company’s needs. You will be responsible for managing database operations, ensuring availability and reliability, performing routine maintenance, and supporting performance and troubleshooting activities. You also need to be technically competent in solid Linux administration skills and familiarity with HA/DR practices.

• Administer, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases in on-premise environments.
• Manage and support the Linux systems that underpin database operations.
• Ensure stability, availability, security, and reliability of database services.
• Perform monitoring, performance analysis, tuning, and troubleshooting of database issues.
• Execute routine maintenance, updates, backups, and recovery tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application and data requirements.
• Document processes, configurations, and best practices for ongoing improvements.
• Be part of the on-call shift.
  
  

Knowledge and skills you need to have

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with:
• Administration and support of PostgreSQL databases.
• Linux system administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL or similar).
• Experience with SQL Server administration.
• Understanding of HA/DR concepts, backup strategies, and failover mechanisms
• Understanding of data structures, schemas, and database internals.
• Working knowledge and understanding of technical language.
• Upper-intermediate English level (writing and reading).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.

Bonus points for the following

Additional requirements, not essential but " nice to have".

• Experience with MongoDB.
• Database DevOps capabilities (automation, scripting, CI/CD for DB operations).
