You will lead a regional team responsible for vessel scheduling, flow management, and proactive contingency handling—safeguarding both customer delivery and operational costs. Your goal is to consistently achieve high levels of schedule reliability while optimizing vessel utilization and supporting strategic network initiatives.
In this role, you will:
- Customer Delivery & Schedule Execution
- Own and ensure delivery of the service promise sold to customers, maintaining a customer-centric approach in all decisions.
- Manage and communicate all service contingencies, prioritizing minimal impact to customers.
- Monitor service performance and take timely corrective action to protect delivery commitments.
- Capacity & Flow Management
- Lead vessel scheduling and regional coordination to achieve optimal network performance.
- Oversee cargo and equipment flow across ports in the Caribbean and Pacific LATAM, collaborating closely with equipment and flow teams.
- Ensure high utilization and monitor volume developments, including managing SOC (Shipper-Owned Container) thresholds at key ports.
- Monitor port and inland connectivity to ensure consistent and efficient cargo movement.
- Cost Leadership & Network Optimization
- Plan and execute port calls and vessel connections at the highest quality and lowest cost.
- Manage cargo planning and allocation adjustments in coordination with commercial and market teams, including rolling and re-routing.
- Work closely with the Global Execution Center (GEC) to monitor bunker consumption and drive fuel efficiency initiatives.
- People Management & Leadership
- Lead and develop a regional team responsible for managing ocean fulfilment activities from the Caribbean and Pacific Latin America to Europe.
- Provide direction, coaching, and performance management to ensure optimal vessel schedules, effective flow management, and strong contingency planning.
- Promote a culture of high accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the team and wider network.
- Process Discipline & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure strong adherence to Maersk’s global operating standards and best practices.
- Identify and lead improvement initiatives, and actively contribute to the design and testing of new tools, systems, and processes.
- Champion a mindset of operational excellence and end-to-end network thinking.
- Proven experience in ocean operations, network execution, or supply chain management
- Strong leadership and team development capabilities in a regional or international setting
- Strategic mindset with a keen ability to balance customer experience, cost, and operational priorities
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills
- A passion for operational excellence and process optimization
