Trident Trust is a leading independent provider of corporate, trust and fund services to the financial services sector worldwide, employing 1,100 staff across a global footprint that spans Africa, the Americas, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, and the Middle East. We are seeking a talented compliance professional to work with the team in our established BVI office. This position will be based in the Trident offices in Panama.
The successful candidate will be required to work as part of the Trident Caribbean Central Compliance team (“TCCT”) and will, under the supervision of the Team Leader, provide compliance support services to Trident offices across the Caribbean region.
Key Responsibilities
- Annually rollout and administer the Caribbean wide compliance/AML e-learning program.
- Gain a detailed understanding of the compliance & AML regulatory obligations applicable in all Caribbean jurisdictions.
- Take ownership for completing compliance related projects for the benefit of different Trident offices across the Caribbean.
- As and when required provide overflow support for existing projects that are running behind schedule and are in need of additional resources.
- As and when required, reach out to clients to request and obtain missing information and or documentation.
- As and when required provide general compliance guidance to Trident offices requesting said guidance.
- If and when required carry out Third Party Introducer (“TPI”) testing on TPIs associated with each Trident Caribbean office.
- If and when required, investigate and resolve all on-going screening hits stemming from each Trident office in the Caribbean.
- Know and understand the contents of the Trident Panama employee manual & Compliance manual.
- As requested by the Team Leader, provide data and or statistics of work undertaken.
- Liaise directly with any regional Trident office contacts as needed for the purpose of carrying out the key responsibilities assigned.
- Raise any issues as they arise relating to tasks assigned with the Team Leader.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in business/law/finance/compliance.
- Professional qualification i.e ACAMS, CCL etc is an advantage.
- English proficiency essential.
- Min 3+ years’ compliance/auditing experience in the corporate/financial services environment.
- Experience reading and interpreting legislation, policies and procedures is essential.
- A definite interest in compliance and willingness to take on challenging tasks.
- Ability to multi-task and handle numerous assignments simultaneously.
- Knowledge and experience working on systems such as Viewpoint is an advantage.
- Experiencing using search/screening applications such as world-check or similar system is preferred.
- Excellent verbal, telephone, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Demonstration of a professional, positive, and enthusiastic attitude.
