We are looking for a Senior Ocean Fulfilment Lead to join our Trans-Pacific to US East Coast Ocean Fulfilment Team in the Americas Ocean Customer Logistics (OCL), based in Panamá City, Panamá. We would like to invite the right candidate to join us – a person who can and will own (plan and manage) all aspects related to Customers promises and assets in a specific service scope, including container flows (empty and laden) and vessel scheduling activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and ensure that we deliver the product and promise we sold to our customers
  • Own the overall utilization and schedule reliability of specific services within a trade scope
  • Optimize usage of space by optimizing booking acceptance, allocation adjustment, manage all cargo loading (rolling, re-routing) in conjunction with ROM, including both laden and empty flow
  • Own vessel scheduling to meet reliability and delivery requirement, work with GMC to manage bunker consumption and drive reduction, coordinate delivery/re-delivery plan.
  • Manage proformas revisions and optimizations along with N&M to ensure network efficiency.
  • Own and optimize in executing the empty flow plan
  • Manage vessel contingency/incident.
  • Participates in and coordinates new deployments and optimization opportunities with Network and Marketing leads to underpin customer experience and network efficiency.
  • Engage and communicate closely with a multitude of stakeholders inside the organization, as well as external stakeholders.
  • Establishes good working relationships with external shipping partners as part of the Vessel Sharing Agreement (VSA) and Slot Charter Agreement (SCA).
  • Acts as "ambassador" towards commercial functions and relevant Maersk business units in establishing cross-functional initiatives to improve company results and customer experience.
  • Champions and drives improvement initiatives within the team and across departments to optimize internal processes, in line with Maersk's Transformation & Digitalization journey as well as Customer Centricity.
  • Identifies and executes cost reduction initiatives through alignment with Procurement and Finance teams.
  • Act as a team lead within the group, assisting the Ocean Fulfilment Manager when they are out and participating as a lead within projects in the team.

Who we are looking for:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree is desirable.
  • Advanced verbal and written English proficiency. Spanish as a second language is an advantage.
  • Proven track record of operational experience, a good understanding of the container business, and experience with data and business analysis.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset, driving processes execution, and optimization, to minimize variation and exceptions.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, while engaging with OCL stakeholders to devise tangible solutions to operational challenges, considering the commercial requirements and service delivery impact on our customers.
  • Strong stakeholder management, being able to influence without authority and challenge constructively.
  • Candidate must be located in Panama.
